Why the Inverted 13?
The upside-down 13 is one of cycling’s oldest and most visible traditions.
For well over a century, riders handed race number 13 have flipped it on their jersey to neutralize the supposed bad luck of the number, and have called the practice “making your own luck.”
Sport is full of variance—crashes, weather, bad draws, unlucky bounces. Across every discipline, athletes have always used rituals, routines, and small acts of control to manage that uncertainty and stay focused.
The inverted 13 is our visual shorthand for that mindset. It’s not about pure superstition. It’s about agency: taking something that could be seen as a disadvantage and deliberately flipping it.
Preparation, resilience, and intent turn potential bad luck into something you can work with. That principle travels far beyond cycling. It applies whether you’re racing a criterium, lining up for a marathon, stepping onto the volleyball court, or competing in any other sport we work with.
We’ve evolved the old peloton phrase into our brand motto: Own Your Luck. The logo is a permanent reminder of that idea—simple, bold, and rooted in the idea that the best athletes don’t wait for fortune. They make it.
